Catwalk Looks at the New York Fashion Week for Spring 2016

The New York Fashion Week Makeup for Spring 2016 gives us beauty and makeup enthusiasts something to look forward to come March and April.  That is rather exciting, but wait, so what happens now? Must all of us makeup artists, beauty junkies, and fashionistas wait until spring to rock these beauty trends hot off the runway? Absolutely not! Many of the makeup looks displayed by top designers are ongoing makeup trends from this fall, and many designers even portrayed their models with classic, clean makeup looks that will not be going out of style any time soon.

Eyebrows are still the new black.

From the looks of it from New York Fashion Week, full eyebrows are here to stay.  The days of the pencil thin brows have long since been over, and thick lush eyebrows have and will rule the beauty world for the time being.

New York Fashion Week shows also displayed models rocking colored brows from bright blues and purples.  This look is the embodiment of spring with the colorful, fun shades making a very amazing statement.

Smoke and mirrors

My philosophy has always been when in doubt, smoke it out. And if you haven’t guessed what I am referring to then I am talking about my eye makeup ladies and gentleman. I am not sure what it is, but there is just something about a smokey eye that is so appealing to me.  It just gives a sense of mystery, entrancement, and sex appeal to anyone that rocks a smokey eye, and it screams confidence.  I love that… I love that makeup can ignite these feelings within us to feel a certain way about ourselves and our environment, and I am sure many of you that have a professional makeup certification or have taken makeup training classes can undoubtedly relate.  Enough about my deep philosophies on makeup and lets get back to the topic at hand, the amazingness of smokey eyes.

The unique aspect of the smokey eye trend from New York Fashion Week and this fall is that the current smokey eye is extremely blended and diffused.  It is a more simplistic approach to the smokey eye that can be done by anyone even someone that has not taken professional makeup classes.

Graphic lines

One of this fall’s stand out trends that has made its way to New York Fashion Week to foreshadow an ongoing trend into spring is the bold graphic liner looks.  Coloring outside of the lines has a new meaning in the makeup industry as makeup artists allow their creativity to take over line placement and designs for eyeliner.  The difference between fall graphic liner trends and some displayed during New York Fashion Week was variations in color. While the fall graphic liner trend focuses on bold, black geometrical lines and shapes, the spring trends show vibrant colors as well as black liners.
